Uh Oh ? Lumidee Inks New Deal, Album To Drop Early 2007

I?m sure we all remember ?Uh Oh (Never Leave),? the huge hit from singer Lumidee back in 2003 after she slightly remade the Jamaican Diwali Riddim. Now after several years, the Latin R&B singer and rapper has inked a deal with TVT Records and is preparing to release her sophomore album entitled Unexpected in March 2007.

?TVT Records is the perfect way for me to come back and again I?m coming out of left field, just like with ?Never Leave You (Uh Oh),? Lumidee tells Vibe.com. ?Nobody ever thought of me coming back on a street credible label like TVT, alongside acts like Pitbull, Lil Jon and the Ying Yang Twins. Actually, nobody ever thought of me really even coming back, period.?

?We are thrilled to have Lumidee join the TVT family,? says TVT Records President, Steve Gottlieb. ?She is a proven hit-maker who has not yet shown the world all that she?s capable of. Everyone is in for a treat.?

Even though the majority thought she was a ?one hit wonder,? Lumidee has been building her rep on the Latin music scene. She collaborated with several reggaeton artists, including Speedy and rapper N.O.R.E. Her single ?Sientelo? featuring Speedy sold more than one million units world wide on Virgin Records France.

According to vibe, The album?s first single ?She?s Like The Wind? features former Terror Squad singer Tony Sunshine and samples actor Patrick Swayze?s original version of the song.
