"Sister Ray"

(John Cale - Sterling Morrison - Lou Reed - Maureen Tucker)

The Velvet Underground

White Light/White Heat, 1968

Now, it's impossible to even begin to tab this entire song. All you have to

remember, if you want to attempt playing it, is to just jam on what's

written here.

This is basically the entire song until it gets too atonal to tell what's

going on.

Many of the "tonal" guitar and/or organ riffs are over the G mixolydian

scale

(G-A-B-C-D-E-F-G). Around 11:30 into the song begins a distinct feedback

noise, which

is actually a C note. Use that in your rendition if you want to.

Remember: distortion, distortion, distortion!

Here it is:

G F C

Have fun with this one! (How can't you?)

Cheers,

Alex
