Tool Add 19 More Dates To North American Tour
Last month, Tool rolled out a handful of North American dates as part of the band's forthcoming late summer/early fall trek across North America. But a handful of gigs does not a tour make - which is why the rockers have beefed up their schedule by 19 shows.
Tool have added stops in cities including Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Dallas, Chicago, Detroit and Cleveland. The trek is currently set to wind down September 29 in Mansfield, Massachusetts, though additional dates may be announced this month. The tour kicks off at San Diego's Street Scene festival on August 5.
Tickets for Tool's brief 15-date U.S. club run in May were snatched up in minutes, leaving many fans out in the cold. But the group had promised to return to the States for a slew of additional dates in larger venues, giving devotees a second chance to catch the band live. Much of Tool's summer has been spent in Europe, where the Maynard James Keenan-led band has been playing the festival circuit.
Tool have enlisted heavy-metal experimentalists Isis as the openers for stops on the tour. Isis recently finished the recording and mixing of their forthcoming, still-untitled album with producer Matt Bayles (Mastodon, Botch). The LP is due October 31.
Tool continue to tour in support of their fourth studio LP, 10,000 Days. The album debuted at #1 on Billboard's albums chart in early May, selling more than half a million copies its first week in stores.
