Toni Braxton Back on the Road After Heart Scare
R&B Singer Toni Braxton is desperately trying to stay healthy when she goes out on tour again to avoid a relapse after being diagnosed with a heart condition.
Braxton collapsed two years ago while starring on Broadway in "Aida" and was diagnosed with pericarditis, a condition in which the membrane covering the outer surface of the heart becomes inflamed.
The condition is frequently caused by a viral infection and Braxton is doing everything she can to avoid catching a cold or the flu.
She explains, "My body had to build up immunity again. I have to take anti-inflammatories. If I catch a cold, I have to take antibiotics right away."
The Grammy Award winner has just released 'Libra,' her first album in over three years and is trying to get back into the routine of touring.
The singer adds, "I'm getting comfortable, getting my chops wet again. It's a lot of work.
"It's like starting all over again."
