Well, here it is. This took a long time so I hope it helps someone. I'm

responsible for the content, except "Tommy's Holiday Camp" by Pete Palmer

[ppalmer@mahogany.cray.com] and "Pinball Wizard" by someone named Marc Hirsh.

So all mistakes in lyrics/chords/notes/keys/typos/etc can be attributed to

myself.

Please send any proofs to sef@icbr.ufl.edu. I don't know how to archive

(since no one wanted to tell me how) so I'll let someone else do that.

I've written things for one guitar (most of the time) but like Jimmy

Page, Townshend likes to layer things, horns, etc. It all sounds pretty close.

But weaknesses abound, so correct as you like. I figured out everything here

and something could be (probably is) wrong.

Mike

Unfortunately, Pete plays the solo on either a guitar tuned to Eb, or the

don't have two guitars you can either 1) play all chords up a 1/2 step or

2) don't pluck the low E string on the solo and play it in Eb. This is the way

it's played on record. (In the key of E)

There are two guitars, one playing the descending riff (tabbed here)

they're very clearly sung.

PINBALL WIZARD

by The Who

Here is as much as I've got for "Pinball Wizard" by the Who. This is

played on an acoustic (DUH). `e' stands for eighth notes, `s' for sixteenth,

`q' for quarter, `h' for half, and, yes, even `w' for whole notes. The rapid

strumming parts can be fairly improvised. The chords in the first 6 bars are

strummed at a speed so that you can almost hear each individual note. A slide

is indicated by a `/' for up and `\' for down. A period after a note value

means dotted. The chord parts are best played with your index finger on the B

string, middle on the G string (using pinky for pull-offs), and ring fringer

on the D string, with the thumb wrapping around and playing the low E string.

Sounds hard, but gets easier with practice.

MIRACLE CURE/ SALLY SIMPSON

by The Who

F G Ab

Ex - tra, ex - tra, read all about it!

Eb Bb

The pinball wizard and the miracle cure.

F G Ab Bb -> F

Ex - tra, ex - tra, read all about it. Ex - tra!

2) SALLY SIMPSON

INTRO:

C --> G C --> G

VERSE:

C G-7 C G-7

Outside the house Mr. Simpson announced that Sally couldn't go to the meeting.

C G-7 C G-7

He went on cleaning his blue Rolls Royce, and she ran inside a-weeping.

C G-7 C G-7

She got to her room and tears splashed the picture of her new messiah.

C G-7 C G-7

She picked up a book of her father's life and threw it on the fire.

CHORUS:

F

She knew from the start, deep down in her heart.

G

She and Tommy were worlds apart.

F C D G

But her mother said "Never mind. Your part is to be what you'll be."

The theme of the sermon was "Come unto me and love will find a way."

So Sally decided to ignore her dad and sneak off anyway.

She spent all afternoon getting ready and decided she'd try to touch him.

Maybe he'd see that she was free and talk to her this Sunday.

Repeat CHORUS

She arrived at six and the place was swingin' to Gospel music by nine.

Group after group appeared on the stage and Sally just sat there cryin'.

She sttod there looking pretty as a picture right in the very front row.

Then a D.J wearin' a blazer with a badge ran on and said "Here we go!"

BRIDGE:

D-7 G D-7 G

The crowd went crazy as Tommy hit the stage.

D-7 Em A D

Little Sally got lost as the police forced the crowd back in a rage.

Soon the atmosphere was cooler and Tommy gave a lesson.

Sally just had to let him know she loved him and leapt up on the rostrum.

She ran across the stage to the spotlit figure and brushed him on the face.

Tommy whirled round as a uniformed man threw her off the stage.

Repeat CHORUS

Her cheek hit a chair and blood trickled down, mingling with her tears.

Tommy carried on preaching and his voice filled Sally's ears.

She caught his eye. She had to try, but he couldn't see through the lights.

Her face was gashed and the ambulance man had to carry her out that night.

BRIDGE 2:

D-7 G D-7 G

The crowd went crazy as Tommy left the stage.

D-7 Em A D

Little Sally was lost for the price of a touch and a gash across her face.

Ooooh.

Sixteen stiches put her right and her dad said "Don't say I didn't warn you!"

Sally got married to a rock musician she met in California.

Tommy always talks about the day the disciples all went wild.

Sally still carries a scar on her cheek to remind her of his smile.

Repeat CHORUS
