Lostprophets - The Handsome Life Of Swing + Interlude 3

This is pretty much correct.

Also, i have the MM4 but it hasn't the FX to produce the intro sound;

Lee used a Digitech RP7 (now contained in the GNX series) as well as the

Line 6 stompboxes, im sure there is an FX on the filter pedal as

the sound produced isnt just from tremolo picking.

For Guitar 2, you'll prob need a compression pedal to take the 'edge'

off the open string sound.

Ive included the live ending an some live variations to the song,

based on the ozzfest recordings i have an what i have seen live.

Any questions/comments email me.

Guitar 1: (maybe w/ little delay + maybe v. fast tremolo-pedal FX

an also some sustain effect)

Tremolo pick v. fast. Repeat up to 00:41.

| listen for down slide @ end of 00:06

slide back up exactly 1 second later |

D|-------17-----------1715-------------15/17---------------------|

A|-------15-----------1513-------------13/15---------------------|

F|-------14-----------1412-------------12/14---------------------|

C|----------------------------------------------------------------|

G|----------------------------------------------------------------|

C|----------------------------------------------------------------|

Then at 00:23 the picking changes to single notes played v. fast.

When i saw this live, both times, Guitar 1 (Lee) plays something

like this by placing 1 finger down on the fret, playing the note

an then lifting the finger off so the note doesnt ring out.

He then moves onto the next note:

(FX are still the same as before)

This isnt 100% but it sounds like what was played live an kinda

fits.

"Point your finger..."

Guitar 1 slows down so each note can be heard but it is still fast

Guitar 2 plays this (below) after 4th repeat of above riff @ 00:24

D|----------------------------------------------------------------|

A|----------------------------------------------------------------|

F|----------------------------------------------------------------|

(Mute after each section to stop ringing)

Both Guitars: @ end Of 00:41

("Here inside, won't be here to stay...")

Verse (with chorus effect + maybe some flange)

D|--3--------3--------3--3-------3--------3--3-----------3--------|

A|--3--------3--------3--3--3----3--------3--3--3--------3--------|

Then repeat Intro and verse once more following the same timing.

The only difference is that guitar 2 comes in with guitar 1

imediately after verse (above).

Guitar 1:

Plays this over the 2nd repeat of the verse while guitar 2 plays

the normal verse

(with chorus effect + clean tone + a slight echo)

(Mute after each one to stop ringing)

Guitar 2 continues this riff while Guitar 1 plays this over it:

(distortion an mayb a wah or sustain - something to make the notes

ring - i just hold them so they ring + the slides are optional as

they too make the sound more 'whiney')

D|----------------------------------------------------------------|

A|--------------------------------------------------------11------|

F|-/14--10--12--/14--10--12--/14--10--12--/14-10--12----12------12|

D|----------------------------------------------------------------|

A|-----11-----10-----10-----11~-----------------------------------|

C|-12-----12-----12-----12----------------------------------------|

G|----------------------------------------------------------------|

C|----------------------------------------------------------------|

| Let last note ring|

At UK Ozzfest, the guitar 1 (Lee) began the overlay in this way:

(distortion + chorus, again slides are optional)

D|----------------------------------------------------------------|

A|----------------------------------------------------------------|

F|-/10-10--12--14---/10--12--14---/10--12--14---/10-12------------|

C|----------------------------------------------------------------|

G|----------------------------------------------------------------|

C|----------------------------------------------------------------|

Then after the 12,12,11 on the C,F and A strings, the overlay goes

back to normal starting with the 14 on the F and not the 12.

The live ending to the song played at all shows is this:

(Normally has a flange effect on over the distortion)

D|----------------------------------------------------------------|

A|-----10--10h11--10--11/13~--------------------------------------|

F|--12------------------------------------------------------------|

C|----------------------------------------------------------------|

G|----------------------------------------------------------------|

C|----------------------------------------------------------------|

| Let the slide ring |

On the album, the interlude after it is this (this took a while to

figure out):

(Chorus effect maybe w/ slight flange to create a watery sound

after each note so it rings better)

D|-----0---------0-----------0---------0-----------0---------0----|

A|---------0---------0-----------0---------0-----------0---------0|

F|-------2---------2-----------2---------2-----------2---------2--|

C|----------------------------------------------------------------|

G|-0----------0-----------3---------3-----------0---------0-------|

C|----------------------------------------------------------------|

D|-----0-----------0-----------0-----------0-----------0----------|

A|---------0-----------0-----------0-----------0-----------0------|

F|-------2-----------2-----------2-----------2-----------2--------|

C|----------------------------------------------------------------|

G|-3-----------3--------------------------------------------------|

C|-------------------------3-----------3-----------0-----------0--|

D|-0-------------0-----------0-----------0-----------0-----------0|

A|-----0-------------0-----------0-----------0-----------0--------|

F|---2-----2-------2-----------2-----------2-----------2----------|

C|----------------------------------------------------------------|

G|-----------0-----------0-----------3-----------3----------------|

C|-----------------------------------------------------------3----|

D|-----------0-----------0-----------0----------------------------|

A|---0-----------0-----------0-----------0------------------------|

F|-2-----------2-----------2-----------2----2---------------------|

C|----------------------------------------------------------------|

G|----------------------------------------------------------------|

C|-------3-----------0-----------0--------------------------------|

Tune repeats an then fades out

Thats it, hope, you like it.
