Teddy Riley & R&B Group B2K Unite For ‘Hype Nation’
Teddy Riley has officially signed on to play a music director in Paramount’s new film “Hype Nation.” The veteran producer known for his part in creating New Jack Swing and his role in the groups Guy and Blackstreet joins B2K and rumored comedian Whoopi Goldberg for the dance flick according to Variety.The $25 million film, which begins production in July will follow dance battles between R&B group B2K and South Korean dance crew The Gambler. According to recent reports, most of the film sis expected to be produced in South Korea where The Gambler is a top Korean B-boy team. The team has won numerous dance competitions including the 2004 Battle of the Year in Germany and the 2005 UK Championship. Alex Calzatti (“I Am Cuba”) will direct the project for Young Lee of Young Film, a Korean American producer who has previously partnered with hip-hop artists in the US. “Hype Nation” is slated for release worldwide in early 2009.
