R&B Legend Teddy Riley Receives Hip Hop Hall of fame Bid
Teddy Riley, best known as "The King of New Jack Swing," will be entered into The Hip-Hop Hall of Fame at the VH1 Hip-Hop Awards. The R&B legend will be officially entered into the Hip-Hop Hall of Fame on Oct 4th and will appear and perform on the VH1 special to air Oct. 8th 2007. Singer-Songwriter-Musician Teddy Riley was the ring leader of one of the most influential groups of R&B in two separate decades, Guy in the '80s and Blackstreet in the '90s. Riley is mostly responsible for making a successful fusion of hip-hop and R&B in the late '80s and early '90s which was called “New Jack Swing.” Riley is also credited for discovering The Neptunes (Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo) and Rodney Jerkins.
