R&B Singer Tank Misses Top Spot But Strong At #2 on Top 200

Tank

R&B singer Tank's latest album, ‘Sex, Love & Pain’ has debuted in the Number Two position on the Billboard's Top 200 albums chart. The singer achieved the feat with sales of 103,000 units in his first week of release, his best showing for any of his CDs. Tank’s number one spot was cut short due to Linkin Park garnering the best debut so far this year, moving 623,000 of their third LP, ‘Minutes To Midnight.’ Linkin Park’s debut is the biggest debut since Jay-Z's ‘Kingdom Come’ moved 680,000 in December. Tank's previous release, ‘One Man,’ debuted at Number 20 in 2002 before falling down the chart. His 2001 debut, ‘Force Of Nature,’ leaped onto the pop chart at Number Seven with 98,000 copies. Tank's current single, "Please Don't Go," is a top-three hit on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and reached Number One on the urban radio airplay charts. Tank is reportedly planning to team with singers Tyrese and Ginuwine for an R&B supergroup called TGT (Tyrese Taps Ginuwine and Tank to Form New R&B Group).
