Update: Dip Set President Freekey Zekey Releases Statement Regarding Stack Bundles
Diplomats Records president Freekey Zekey has released a statement regarding Stack Bundles, the Dip Set/Byrdgang-affiliated mixtape hip hop upstart, who was killed early this Monday morning (June 11) in the lobby of his Far Rockaway, Queens, apartment building. In his statement, Freekey says "I just want to say life is never promised tomorrow, so you have to live your life to the fullest. Sometime you question the lord's actions on certain things, but you just got to live steadfast so don't make this a situation where you clam up and go in a shell. Big shout out to the big homie, we love you and will always remember you. Stack is a true solider. I've been in similar circumstances three years ago and it's really killing me inside. He was young and I'm very saddened by this loss. I was with Stack last night in Stereo and it's just hard to leave someone a few hours ago to hear they had an untimely death. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, especially his sisters." Stack, whose full name was Rayquon Elliott, was shot once in the head and once in the neck, after returning from Club Stereo around 5 am Monday morning, according to a spokesperson for the NYPD. His chain was stolen, but his money and credit cards were intact. He was 24 years old. No word yet from Jim Jones, who signed Stack on as a Byrdgang protégée.- Listen to Stack Bundles' "Ya Dig" Feat.
