Spice Girls

The London leg of the Spice Girls reunion has sold out in an amazing 38 seconds, according to promoters. Over a million UK fans registered for the December 15th show at London's 02 Arena and were alerted by text and email when the tickets were finally released. So quickly were the tickets snapped up that two additional dates – December 16th and December 18th – have been added to the girl group’s 2007/8 world tour. Chris Edmonds, head of Ticketmaster, described the gigs unbelievable popularity. "It was a dramatic moment - the sales went live and there was a huge surge as fans bombarded the lines," he told the BBC. The tour – which kicks off in Vancouver on December 2nd – will be the first time the original five members have performed on stage together since Geri Halliwell quit in May, 1998. Having sold 55 million records under the stewardship of music svengali Simon Fuller, the five-piece have fans across the globe and will pass through Canada, the US, the UK, Germany, Spain, China, Hong Kong, Australia, South Africa and Argentina on their reunion tour. Ticketmaster is also advertising a fourth London show, to take place on January 2nd, 2008.Source: Contactmusic
