Slade - Gypsy Roadhog guitar tab

Author/Artist: Slade

Title: Gypsy Roadhog

Transcribed by: Hunter Maxwell

The slide part is double tracked to thicken it up. I tried it in standard tuning and in open A and it doesn't

change much as far as ease of playing either way. The "i" indicates notes that are fretted with the first (index)

finger behind the slide worn on the third finger. I've found that muting and picking in slide playing is very

much an individual style so these are merely recommendations, play it as you feel comfortable.

Slide guitar: (standard tuning)

A D

Powdered my nose in Alabama - Out on a limb

A D

Powdered my nose in Indiana - Ain't that a sin

B E

I had to get my butt out quick

B E

It always works - the old, old trick

B D E

I got away just in the nick of time, that's why

I powdered my nose in Oklahoma - Over the top

I wasted away in New Orleans - I couldn't stop

Down in the alley - happy dust

Me and Romona we was gettin' bust

I got away just in the nick of time, that's why

Chorus:

A

I got the nickname the gypsy roadhog

E

On the California trail

D

I gotta keep my wheels movin' on

Bm E

I gotta keep me outta jail

(slide guitar)

Powdered my nose in San Francisco - Down on the bay

It went to my head down in New York City - I was blasted away

And two ugly scuts bust in the room

They took away my little silver spoon

I got away just in the nick of time, that's why

Repeat Chorus

A D

I'm comin' through, through, through

A D

I'm comin' through, through, through

A D

I'm comin' through, through, through

I'm looking for you

Slide guitar three times to fade

Keep them wheels movin' on, movin' on

Keep turnin', turnin', turnin' on

On the California trail
