Song is in 3/3 time (or whatever..)

NOTE: I play this with my guitar tuned to E.

To get the same pitch as Skyclad's version the TAB is based on normal E tuning but

is in the key of A flat minor, yer basic pentatonic with dinky finger on fret 7

- tell me if I'm wrong haha.

>From them glens I heard the fallen

above the battle cries,

By the bridge near the border

there were many born to die.

They'd come to claim them Emerald -

Without it they could not leave.

Finish off with the first cool bit played once again

Hope you enjoy learning it - I damn well did

Emerald was originally written by the great Thin Lizzy, one of who's members

Brian Robertson), plays guest guitar on the song with Steve Ramsey. Together

they create that really intense but magnificently crafted guitar duel which I

shall leave to you to recreate :) What really makes this track stand out

from the original though is the violin(and viola?) section which adds such a

damn fine Celtic atmosphere which Phil Lynott could never have dreamed of.

If you compare the Lizzy's original along with Skyclad's reworked version which

of the two best makes you imagine a field full of Celtic warriors out to reclaim

their lost heritage? The heavier guitars and Martin's powerful vocals alone

would have blown Lizzy off the stage!
