R&B Singer Ruben Studdard Takes Peachez to Court
Ruben Studdard can’t catch a break. The R&B singer and former American Idol winner has reportedly filed a lawsuit in New York Supreme Court, claiming that a marketing company owes him $45,000. The breach of contract suit is against the Dallas based company Peachez, who describes itself as "a specialty marketing company." A call to Ruben Studdard’s rep returned no response. Last month Studdard was reportedly dropped from his record label, J Records, after fallen victim to lackluster sales. Studdard delivered three albums to J before he was bumped off the roster. Its not all bad for Studdard though. Big League Productions, the company that books Broadway musicals for touring throughout the world, recently announced the launching of traveling revival of the Tony-winning revue "Ain't Misbehavin" with headliners Ruben Studdard and Frenchie Davis. The national tour is scheduled for 2008-09. Show dates have yet to be announced.
