September has shaped up to be a major month for new R&B music, setting the pace for several months of debuts, comebacks and sophomore albums from the likes of Monica, Ciara, Musiq Soulchild, Robin Thicke, Beyonce, Brandy, Joe, Jennifer Hudson and maybe even Whitney Houston. With that being said, expect new albums from Robin Thicke, Raphael Saadiq, Joe, Jennifer Hudson, Ne-Yo, and Jazmine Sullivan all within 30 days ! September 9, 2008 R&B Album Releases Three veteran artists return to the scene on the 9th including Eric Benet's highly anticipated album "Love & Life." Featuring the lead single "You're The Only One," Benet's new album becomes the first project that he has had more creative control over since his 1996 debut "True to Myself" according to a recent interview. In addition to Benet, Natalie Cole, who is currently undergoing treatment for Hepatitis C, returns with "Still Unforgettable" which features a duet with the late Nat King Cole. Sullivan, an established songwriter, penned every song on her twelve track album including the hit single "Need U Bad" In addition to Sullivan's debut, R&B crooner Joe marks his return with "New Man," the first of two new albums he has on tap between now and 2009. After a recent "tell all" session with Eurweb, regarding his adventures with R.Kelly and him sabotaging his career, Joe is eager to prove himself with ‘New Man,' released through Kedar Entertainment. Thicke, who earned major respect with the album "The Evolution of Robin Thicke" seems to be on track to double up with his latest single "Magic" while Hudson who already has an Oscar for her role as "Effie White" in Dreamgirls has to prove that she can be a successful recording artist beyond the shadow of "Effie & ‘And I Am Telling You"..... can she do it ? The album will also include the classic "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going" from "Dreamgirls" and "All Dressed in Love" from the recent "Sex and the City" soundtrack.
