Def Jam Recording?s Barbados-born R&B star Rihanna is set to make her movie debut - playing herself.

According to Teen Hollywod the project has fired up Rihanna's passion for acting so much, she plans to take acting classes next year to hone her skills.

She says, "I really want to get into acting."

In the film, currently shooting in Los Angeles, rival cheerleaders compete to appear in a fictional Rihanna TV special.

The film stars Beyonce Knowles' sister Solange and Raising Helen star Hayden Panettiere.
