R&B star Rihanna Added to Live Earth, Announces CoverGirl Gig

R&B singer Rihanna and Hip Hop rockers Linkin Park have been added to the artists performing in Live Earth, a 24-hour, 7 Continent live concert that will be broadcast to over 2 billion people. Live Earth Founder Kevin Wall announced today (May 29) that Japan will be the only country to host two official concerts, with a daylong event taking place in Tokyo and a broadcast event at the To-ji Buddhist Temple in Kyoto later in the evening. Concerts are taking place on all 7 continents in Japan, China, South Africa, the United Kingdom, Germany, Turkey, Brazil and New York, which will host the finale concert. Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, Kanye West, Akon, Alicia Keys, The Beastie Boys, The Black Eyed Peas, John Legend and other artists are participating in the various concerts througout the world. Live Earth kicks off in Sydney, Australia on July 7, 2007, with performances by Blue King Brown, Sneaky Sound System, The John Butler Trio, Jack Johnson and others. More acts for Live Earth are scheduled to be announced at a later date. In more Rihanna new, the R&B singer has just recently announced her new job as the face of CoverGirl cosmetics. "I always wanted to be a CoverGirl,” gushed the native of Barbados. “Every little girl wants to become one. CoverGirl has worked with other music artists and the brand itself is about make-up. What's not to like? It's a natural fit for me." Rihanna’s CoverGirl run is scheduled to launch in June.
