R. Kelly’s Wife: He Is Innocent, I Don’t Need To Watch The Tape
The estranged wife of R&B singer R. Kelly refuses to believe her husband is guilty of the alleged child pornography charges against him, even though she hasn't seen the videotape in question.
In 2002, R. Kelly was charged with 21 counts of child pornography in connection to a 26 minute tape which prosecutors claim shows him having sex with an underage girl. However, Andrea Kelly insists her husband is not the man in the footage, despite not having seen the tape for herself. She tells Essence Magazine, "C'mon. Who would believe all that? That's why they call them allegations."
In the interview, Andrea also hits out at those who are quick to judge her and assume her husband is guilty. She adds, "Oh boy, if you only knew. If you knew what it took to be in (my) position. "I would hope people would take away from this that you can't just look at a women in my position and judge her because of things you perceive in a video or stuff you hear on the street."
