Latest Update: Kelly's brother defends DVD

R Kelly

R. Kelly's outspoken brother Carey has defended the low-budget DVD he is releasing which claims the R&B star has had sex with minors, beats his wife, has molested his nieces and is bisexual. Carey insists he is not being disloyal to his brother - real name Robery Kelly - and feels victimised for speaking out about the singer. He maintains his primary concern is to clear his name, after his brother's lawyer allegedly implicated Carey in the controversial sex tape to protect his client ahead of his upcoming child pornography trial. Carey tells MTV, "People say, 'He's doing this for a buck.' Yeah, everybody needs money to survive, don't get me wrong. But being accused in this videotape destroyed my life. "That's why I'm speaking out. Because it started destroying my life, started destroying my kids' lives, when I wasn't doing anything but minding my own business. "I love my brother. I'm not trying to put him in a position where he can't sell records or his fans hate him. I don't gain anything by making up a lie, by trying to hurt somebody or bring them down. "I was blamed for the video, and nobody's saying anything about that because I'm a nobody. No one says, 'Man, why did he say it's his brother?' His attorneys blamed me for the video. That's the only reason I'm speaking out." Carey alleges Robert asked him to tell police it was him on the sex tape, in exchange for $50,000, a record deal and a house. The hitmaker is set to stand trial on child pornography charges in Chicago, Illinois, in April 06. He has pleaded innocent. Prosecutors in Chicago's state attorney's office are trying to get in contact with Carey to investigate his claims further.
