Album Reviews: R Kelly’s ‘Double up, Paris Bennett’s ‘Princess P’
The multiple Grammy winning Pied Piper of R&B has done it again with the release his highly anticipated 9th solo studio album “Double Up.” Heavily influenced by the Dirty South Hip-Hop craze that has been sweeping the nation for over 3 years strong, this record is a lot different than most of Kell’s other releases because he takes a stab at rapping. This might not have been intentional but R. Kelly becomes somewhat of a narrator during the tracks. He really pumps out the club bangers on “Double Up” with songs like "Trying to Get a Number," "Get Dirty," and the slower jam "Get Freaky in the Club," which are sure to be hits.
