Stop the Press, Prince Announces Weekend Gigs at Hollywood Roosevelt

Prince

In contrary to the reports about contractual issues, pop star Prince has official announcement that he will play a seven-show run this summer at California's Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. Dates have been confirmed for June 23-24 and 28-30, with two more forthcoming, according to a press release. The weekend intimate concert will seat 200 guest at the hotel's Blossom Room. VIP packages, including dinner at the hotel's Dakota Restaurant prepared by Prince's personal chef, will be offered to 130 guests for $3,121 per couple. An additional 70 standing-room-only tickets will be available for $312.10 each. The prices are a reference to Prince's latest album, "3121," which was released in March 2006 and scored the singer his first No. 1 debut. During his Hollywood Roosevelt stay, Prince is expected to play two-hour sets and debut new music from his forthcoming album, "Planet Earth," which is due July 24 via Columbia Records. At the venue, fans will be able to download the first single, "Guitar," for free courtesy of Verizon Wireless' new V Cast Song ID technology. Following his performances, Prince will preside over an after-hours, free-form jazz jam, according to the press release. Tickets and VIP packages can be ordered by emailing 3121HRH@ThompsonHotels.com.
