Scarecrow

By: Syd Barrett

Performed by: Pink Floyd

Album: The Piper At The Gates of Dawn (1967)

Hey fellow Floydians! This transcription is my own work, so please feel free

to make any suggestions, etc.!! Syd used an electric for this on the 'Piper

album, but Scarecrow is also a great acoustic song. Simple, fun, beautiful!

EADGBE tuning

C Am/G

D

he didn?t care...

Em Am

He stood in a field

Em A

This pattern repeats for the next two verses.

-on fade out-

The song has a beautiful, swelling finish with a few guitars overdubbed, but

this sounds great with two acoustic guitars.

1. picks out a pattern in the A chord

2. strums A/ */A/G (*sorry, I don?t know the name of this chord, but it?s

simply the D string second fret, with the rest of the strings played open)

Enjoy!!
