Verse:

D G

I feed from the bottom, you feed from the top

D G

I live upon morsels you happen to drop

E A

The coffee that somehow leaks out of your cup

D G

If nothing comes down, then I'm forced to swim up

This pattern is used in all the verses

Chorus:

D C G D C A

So I ask you why If I'm swimming by

Am Bm C D

Don't you see anything that you'd like to try?

The jam goes something like this:

Am Bm C Bm Am Bm D

then:

Am Bm C Bm Am etc. .......finally resolving to: Am Bm D

The outro is D & G alternated with the layered lyrics in the

background

After the last "don't you see anything that you'd like to try", they hang on D

for a few bars then Trey plays this part, and the jam part begins after this.

When you get to the A flat part, the open D may sound a little funny at first

(since it's not in the Ab scale) but if you listen closely you can definitely

hear the repeating open D throughout the entire part. The whole part is even

eighth notes. You can email me at eric_j_sievers@yahoo.com Enjoy!

From: "Ryan Richards"

The jam from "Theme From The Bottom" on Billy Breathes is just a repetition of DCG

up until around the 4:23 mark where it just pounds away on D and continues with some

other distorted chords here and there that may or may not be right from the original

tabbing of this song. Just before they go back in to the overlapping lyrics Trey

plays a distorted chord for two bars that is something like this.....

---x---

---3---

---2---

---5---

---x---

---x---

Then the overlapping lyrics are played DCG, and not just D & G. Hope this helps a

little bit.
