Hitch up them mules again with (D)ease                                       
Another broken wagon (A) tongue
Brand new day has be (D)gun

Cross the crik, hit the (A) trees
Throw back yer head, sniff the (D) breeze
Fell the tree, split the (A) log
Stack the wood, feed the (D) dog

Un-hitch old Jack n’(A) Kate
Scrub my hands, fill my (D) plate
Shower n’ shave, slick down (A) hair
Less than hour I’ll be (D) there

She’s been waiting-- where you (A) been?
Buy the ticket, and we go (D) in
Do the two step, and the old fox (A)-trot
Dancing with my dolly, get half- (D) shot

One more squeeze, out of (A) sight
Quick trip home, clear moon- (D) light
Slip into that soft  old feather (A) bed
