Mothers Rose

See (D) our mothers (G) rose
There lovely by the (D) pole
Its been there every (A) day
Since she went a-(D) way

It had not bloomed all (G) year
Forgotten in all the (D) rush
When she became (A) ill
And then, left (D) us

Oh, if we could have known
The pain she had each (G) day
We would have gotten better (A) help
And she would be here (D) today

But there is no way to call
And get her back (G) again
All we have her special (A) rose
So lovely there by the (D) pole
