INTRO:
In a previous tab, I mentioned that I write the type of
songs that say "So long kiss my rear end goodbye" when a
love has gone wrong. So I thought that I should share one
of those types of songs that I write. Johnny Cash actually
influenced my love of music, and I play a lot of his songs.
I've been playing his music for years. The song "Understand Your Man" would have to be the first of
these types of songs that I've ever heard. (The ones that
tell your lover to get out of your face cause you're
leaving them for good). So here is one that I wrote. I have
better ones than this one, I don't feel that this is the
best one, but it's hard to say what songs are actually
better than what songs, sometimes, because, there could be
ways that one song is better than another song, and there
could be ways that it's not. But I know for sure that this
is not my best one.
Lyrics:
1.
Maybe the force of the wind will push me to where I am going
With my bundle stick over my shoulder and my back to the sun
I won't be insulted and misunderstood by your ignorance
that is showing
It's clear as the bottle of wine that's now empty that's
causing me to turn and run.
2.
Don't bother crying my name out with pain for you I do not
know
'Cause I am already gone anyhow so I say "Have we met?"
I'm writing you off with my back to your face and I'll travel where the rivers flow
Without spoken word or a hand-written note ain't coming back on that you can bet
3.
Maybe this oughtta learn you somehow to never mistreat my heart
Excuse me I believe for someone else you have me mistaken
I can't say where I am going or when I'll be back but we need some time apart
All that I know up to this point that it is forever 'cause my heart is breaking
4.
Maybe the force of the wind will push me back to your arms once more
But the odds of that are slim to none 'cause baby you done me wrong
Ain't no use to open your master room window or leaving a key to your door
'Cause baby I'm already too far to turn back just keep in mind baby I'm gone
