Joe Kane is a group where the name originated from the word jocaine, a rhyme
word for the drug cocaine.
Here's a song that I wrote about a month ago. It's based on
expressing to someone the way I feel about them. That they
made a difference in my life, and that they're my angel.
I playes the song in my English class today. I got on one
knee right in front of a girl and sang it to her. She really
really liked it, and I got a standing ovation from the class.
In the story of the song, the guy meets his girl in a
bar. I met this girl at school, but it still shows the way
I feel about her.
INTRO: A,A7,D,Dm,F#m,E,Asus4,A
A D
Lovers are walking through the city,
E A E7
Holdin' hands and lookin' through each other's eyes.
A D Dm
I'm down at the bar what a pity,
E E7 A E7
A lonely look on my face I can't disguise.
A D
But my whole life changed when she walked in,
E A E7
She was attracted by the bright neon lights.
A D Dm
And there's the first room that we talked in,
E E7 A A7
While we were chuggin' whisky down by the pint.
CHORUS:
C#m D
She's my angel under the neon lights
A E7 A A7
She makes me feel good when she holds me tight
C#m D
My life turned around when I heard the sound
F#m E A
Of her voice and saw the look in her eyes
E D A
Angel under the neon lights
VERSE 2:
Smokin' stogeys in my livingroom,
I think of love that brings a tear to my eyes.
Knowin' she'll be back in my arms soon
With the burnin' passion we both can't disguise
But my whole life was turned right around
When I slipped that ring on her gentle hand
She said "Yes" and I remembered the sound
Of her first hello before we drank our brand
CHORUS
INTRO
There's a picking arrangement for this song. It's just
simple note-picking, with the root on the lower strings
being played first, except C#m. The 5th of the chord is the
first note played when it is hit.
