Omarion and Chris Stokes Release Statement Regarding Rape Allegations

Posten on: 2008-09-17 13:28:53

R&B Singer Omarion has stepped up to defend accusations made against Chris Stokes by Demario "Raz B" Thorton and Ricardo Thorton (View story here). "I want to be on the record as saying that "Raz B" Thorton and Ricardo Thorton are lying regarding Chris Stokes. Chris is a father figure to myself, and many others in the industry. He's guided us, helped raised us and is nothing more than an inspiration and someone I respect to and look up to. I have spent countless hours, days, weeks and months with the man since the age of 5 and have never once seen him behave inappropriately. He's married to my aunt and I know this man very well. I stand behind him with no question whatsoever," said Omarion. "I have grown up around Chris and this is crazy to me. These people have damaged me, and my reputation and I won't stand silent and will do all within my means to speak the truth about this matter," said Omarion. Chris Stokes, CEO of The Ultimate Group issued the following statement: "The accusations that Demario 'Raz B' Thorton and Ricardo Thorton have made are vehemently false and hold no merit. I intend on utilizing the full extent of the law, both criminally and civilly to defend myself against this. I have recently stopped financially supporting both individuals along with assisting them with their criminal and legal matters which leads me to believe they are resentful and looking to benefit financially from this. My family is my first priority and the reason why I have been so supportive of them. In bringing these false claims, they have not only slandered me, they have also put me in a position to ensure that the truth is known and I will take all legal routes to protect myself, my family and my four children," said Chris Stokes, CEO of The Ultimate Group. "Allow me to further elaborate on certain comments I have seen reported: I understand from my attorneys that it's against the law in California to record someone on the phone without letting them know they are being taped as was the case in this situation. These individuals released video with doctored audio - I did not say what they accuse me of saying in the context in which it was taken - all statements which were attributed to me were doctored. I vehemently deny these charges and intend on taking very aggressive action to defend my honor. It's also quite ironic that these statements were made only 2 weeks after they were denied admittance by a venue for an event I hosted in Beverly Hills," added Stokes.

Omarion Done With His Former Bandmates, Says “They Are A Product of Their Karma”

Posten on: 2008-08-26 23:27:09

Omarion is calling his relationship with former B2K members Lil Fizz, Raz B and J-Boog a wrap according to a recent interview with MTV News. "I used to rock with them dudes, and now when I see them, it's not like that" says the R&B singer who recently signed with Timbaland's Mosley Music Group following a release from SONY earlier this year. In the exclusive interview Omarion opened up about his situation with the group following a series of allegations between their manager Chris Stokes and Raz B which rocked the world during the Holiday season. "Really, my thing is, I talked to the cats, and it's sad what people will do when they're in the position of 'don't have." says Omarion. "People will say, 'Omarion is still out there and in the public. Omarion is still successful.' But they don't sit back and think, 'Why is Omarion able to get this opportunity? Why are they not getting this opportunity?' Fizz put a single out. They are a product of their karma. I can't talk in detail about what was done [on their parts], but a lot of wrongdoing was done. A lot of false statements off-the-wall, disrespectful things. Not even on a dislike level. On a hurtful level." Despite his feelings toward the group Omarion says he is moving forward with his new album "I'm a spiritual dude, and a part of me is forgiving. But there is so much that has been done, you get tired of that. This whole next album, you'll see a whole new Omarion." Seemingly happy about his departure from SONY, where he cites creative differences and lack of control, Omarion says he has a better grasp of where he is going now. "I feel like now I'm in a really great place." Omarion's last album entitled "21" was released in 2006. In a suprising move, Omarion cut his signature braids this year but says it was all in taking his life and career to the next level. "Cutting my hair, I feel like I'm going to another level. Cutting my hair was a step for me. Anybody that has had hair for so long, when you're used to something, it's like reforming your life." Omarion is currently at work on his third studio album.

Omarion Celebrates 2007 With the Year's First #1 Album

Posten on: 2008-08-12 07:49:20

The chart-topping R&B superstar Omarion is ringing in 2007 with the year's first #1 album, 21. The performer's second solo album (and first on Columbia Records) is entering the Billboard Top 200 best-selling albums chart at #1, with release-to-date sales of 120,463, according to SoundScan. 21 also debuts at #1 this week on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. With 21, Omarion's second solo album, entering both the Top 200 and the R&B sales charts at #1 simultaneously, the contemporary R&B powerhouse becomes one of a select group of artists to have achieved back-to-back #1 debuts on both charts with two consecutive albums. When his debut album, O, debuted at #1 on both charts in February 2005, Omarion (who'd risen to stardom while still in his teens as a frontman for the groundbreaking urban "boy band" B2K) became recognized as an important new voice in contemporary R&B and hip-hop. The music on 21 was created by Omarion to celebrate, and reflect on, turning 21 late last year.

Update: Omarion Speaks Out, New Video Shows Bow Wows Tantrum before His Recent Injury

Posten on: 2008-08-08 06:57:49

A new Youtube video, which shows Bow Wows temper rant, in which he cut his finger and missed several weeks of the Exclusive tour, displays a BET spoofed interview gone bad. Omarion and Bow Wow were constructing an interview for BET's "The Black Carpet" when Bow got upset, cut off the interview and stormed off claiming interviewer Tour was being too disrespectful with the questions. "Do you take moves from people like Chris Brown?" Toure had asked O. Toure also pointed out that Lil Wayne's chain is bigger than Bow Wow's, and praised O for being dope in the "Naked" video which was actually Marcus Houston. Toure then began to yawn during one of O's answers. Bow lost it when the interviewer asked him not to use his phone. "You pay my bills, bruh? Real talk. Don't ask this man is he taking moves from Chris Brown, and don't ask no other disrespectful-ass, stupid-ass questions," Bow Wow said to Toure as he got up to leave. "You got a problem with it you can holler at me." [See video footage below.] What Bow Wow didn't know was that Toure's questions and comments were all part of a BET prank that was discussed with the pair's label beforehand. The interview was to be used for an upcoming "Punk'd"-style show called "Hell Interview." "Everything is good, man," Omarion told MTV. "You know how it is, sometimes when you're coming up in the game and you as young as we have been, sometimes people think they can not necessarily push us around, but they feel they can play with us like that. If it had been 50 Cent or Game or any other man who would have stepped up in that interview, it would have went a lot differently. We want our respect, man. We want our respect as men. You don't just throw a man in a spoof interview and disrespect him. You have to respectfully talk to him. We didn't know it was a spoof, but I'm a little bit different when we handle situations. I'm very mild-tempered. I like to think about what I do before I do it. Bow gets upset." Their joint LP, "Face Off," is in stores now.
