Entertainers 4 Education Alliance, Inc (E4EA) will team up with R&B group Nina Sky, Jason Fox, Red Café and more to produce its 2nd Annual ‘Stay In School Concert’ on Wednesday October 17th from 5p.m. to 8p.m. at the Hammerstein Ballroom. The goal of the event is to “show our children through entertainment that education is important,” explains Entertainers 4 Education Alliance Executive Director, Tonya Lewis. Entertainers 4 Education Alliance, Inc. is a non-profit 501c3 organization established to provide at-risk youth with positive alternatives to negative behaviors through education. While the spotlight will be on the stage as celebrity after celebrity performs and share personal messages about the importance of education, Entertainers 4 Education hopes the attention will be on the message. "The goal of this event is to raise awareness of the alarmingly high dropout rate in the United States and send a powerful message to over 2,500 New York City inner city youth encouraging them to make smart choices about their future and to stay in school," explains Lewis. For more information about the ‘2007 Stay In School Concert’ or for students to attend contact the Entertainers for Education Alliance office at (718) 385-3133.
R&B duo Nina Sky has picked "Curtain Call" featuring Rick Ross as the first single from their forthcoming sophomore release, "The Musical." Known for the hit song "Move Ya Body," Nina Sky has spent that last four years since the release of their debut challenging their voices and learning more about themselves in life and in business. "These last four years were spent traveling, doing shows all over the world, writing and working with other artists. We've really had time to mature into women and master our craft. It shows lyrically and vocally on this album." While four years have elapsed, "The Musical" aims to keep Nina Sky listeners in tune with the duo's journey since their first album. It takes just one listen to their new album–a savvy mix of R&B songs heavily influenced by hip-hop, classic rock and soul supported by intriguing, ethereal vocals–to understand why Polo Grounds/J Records signed the twin team. Besides arranging vocals, Nicole and Natalie penned each track on the album, at times testing their work of art on eager audiences before it was officially ready. With their new single "Curtain Call" featuring Rick Ross, Nina Sky is off to a good start for their J Records debut which also features production from Krucial Keys, Ryan Leslie, Cipha Sounds, Cool & Dre, Salaam Remi, The Runners, Neo da Matrix, Supa Dups and Solitair. "We're giving our fans a glimpse into our lives as Nicole and Natalie. Also, the production on this album is extremely tight. We worked with some of the most talented writers and producers in the industry. The album is a pop, R&B album with a hip-hop base. It's very true to who we are and is finely crafted. We can't wait to release it!" Nina Sky's "The Musical" is due for release this fall.
Latin-R&B group Nina Sky, which is comprised of identical twins Natalie and Nicole, have inked a new recording deal with Polo Ground Music, which is distributed by J Records. The duo will release their sophomore album, “The Musical,” early next year. The project will feature guest appearances by Rick Ross and Trey Songz with production by Scott Storch, Cool & Dre, Cipha Sounds, Salaam Remi, Ryan Leslie and The Jetsons. Nicole of Nina Sky told Allhiphop.com, "We are excited to be a part of the Polo Grounds Music/J Records family. We can't wait to begin working with Bryan (Leach) on our new album because he understands the Nina Sky movement. We are confident that, together, we can take our project to the next level." Polo Grounds Music CEO Bryan Leach added, "We are on a roll right now, but it gets no better than signing an act of this caliber . . . Nicole & Natalie are just getting started with their careers so we're lucky and excited to have them as part of our PGM family." Nina Sky released their debut project in 2004 but their new fans are still surprised to find out that Nina Sky isn't one person but rather a set of twins. Nicole explained: "Yeah, we still get that. When we came up with our name we wanted to do it like it was one person and there's two of us. We didn't know how we were going to form a name, but we wanted there to be some background behind it." The first single off The Musical is "Clothes Off", featuring Black Jays labelmate, Daytona. A music video for the single is in the works.
