Lead Pussycat Doll Nicole Shelves Solo Album To Focus On PCD
It's official, Nicole Scherzinger has shelved her debut solo album in favor of the Pussycat Dolls' upcoming release "Doll Domination." After several delays and a seemingly difficult time in gaining radio momentum for her solo effort Nicole, also lead singer of the hit group the Pussycat Dolls decided to shelve the entire album which was slated to hit stores last year. "I didn't want to miss out on the PCD moment," says the singer who worked with Ne-Yo, Polow Da Don and Sean Garrett on "Her Name Is Nicole." Despite having a tough time at gaining traction at radio, Scherzinger picked up some steam with "Whatever U Like," a collaboration with Hip Hop star T.I. The song, which became the songbird's lead single, peaked at #4 on Billboard's Bubbling Under Chart and #88 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was followed by a second single titled "Baby Love" featuring Will.I.Am which performed well in Europe, hitting the top 10 in Brazil and Germany however, it failed to gain traction in the United States. Even though "Her Name Is Nicole" has been shelved, the singer is reportedly set to release a repackaged album next year following the Pussycat Dolls' "Doll Domination" which hits stores in September.
