Nickelback Singer Pleads Not Guilty
Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger has pleaded not guilty to drunk driving. The rocker was arrested on June 22 in British Columbia, Canada after a police officer noticed his erratic driving. He was then charged with impaired driving and having a blood alcohol level over the legal limit.
During a court hearing in Surrey, British Columbia on Wednesday, Kroeger's lawyer entered a not guilty plea on the singer's behalf. The trial originally came to court in August 2006, but was postponed when Kroeger's legal team asked for more time to look over the police report.
Kroeger, whose driving license is issued under his real name of Chad Turton, is expected to attend court before a verdict is delivered. If found guilty, he faces a $600 fine and a one-year driving ban.
