Ne-Yo Says 'Take A Bow' Was Very Personal
R&B singer/songwriter Ne Yo says Rihanna's "Take A Bow" was inspired from an experience he had with a young lady who was out doing her own thing on the sneak. Inspired by the real thing, Rihanna's hit "Take A Bow," penned by Ne-Yo became a #1 hit which Ne-Yo now admits was very personal. In a recent interview, the "Miss Independent" singer says the first line: "You look so dumb right now," was inspired by a heated argument with a former lover. "It came to me from a situation that happened to me. I was with a young lady and I found out that she had been moving about and doing other things. So I gave her a call and said, 'Yeah I found this out and basically there's no need for you to call me no more'. Click." The songwriter who penned Jennifer Hudson's "Spotlight" recalls "She came to the house that I was at and she was literally standing outside saying, 'Please will you just talk to me'. I'm standing there at the window thinking, 'God, you look so dumb right now'."
