Recently a rumor began running rampant on the internet, alleging that R&B singer Ne-Yo was going to sue pop superstar Beyonce over royalties to her 2006 hit single "Irreplaceable." The “So Sick” hitmaker - real name Shaffer Smith – was also said to be filing the lawsuit against Knowles claiming she reneged on a promise to collaborate on his next album. Contrary to the reports, Ne-Yo tells Singersroom “this rumor is not true.” Ne-Yo says he has no beef with Beyonce and this rumor is just another blogger being bored.
R&B singer/ songwriter Ne-Yo (real name Shaffer Chimere Smith) was arrested early Tuesday for reckless driving in Cobb County, reports TMZ.com. Georgia police pulled Ne-Yo over after they observed him speeding well over 100 mph in his 2006 Range Rover. He was arrested for reckless driving and for not having a valid license. Ne-Yo is currently working on projects for Craig David, Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Leona Lewis, and he recently confirmed that he has been contacted by producer will.i.am to work on Michael Jackson's upcoming album. It has also been confirmed that he will be collaborating with Lindsay Lohan on new material.
R&B singer NE-YO is vehemently denying claims he is going to announce he is gay. The ?When Your Mad? singer's publicist has slammed reports the singer will announce he is gay during a New York City press conference earlier this week and insists that he will also not be coming out in the latest issue of Essence magazine. Ne-Yo, real name SHAFFER CHIMERE SMITH, was forced to address the claims after an e-mail was circulated on the internet purportedly including quotes from the interview, which are attributed to a woman named Barbra. A Def Jam representative says, "It's completely false. There isn't a staff member by that name at Essence, nor is Ne-Yo going to be featured in the October issue of the magazine."
