Mya Gets Romantic As She Gives Her ‘Love For Sale’

R&B singer Mya had a chance to celebrate her role in the new film "Love For Sale" this weekend at the annual American Black Film Festival with co-stars Melyssa Ford, Jason Weaver and Jackie Long. "Love For Sale," a romantic comedy about Trey (Jackie Long), a twenty-something delivery guy that can't seem to catch a break was premiered at the festival which was heavily attended by Hollywood's top African American talent. According to the ABFF, Trey's whole life is in shambles…no money for college, girls don't know he exists and his uncle's recording studio is about to be foreclosed. After a failed attempt to talk to the girl of his dreams, Kiel (Mya), Trey encounters the incredibly, beautiful Katherine (Melyssa Ford) while on delivery. The older woman falls for him despite their age difference. This seemingly perfect development soon proves to just complicate Trey's life even further. The festival, which opened on Friday also featured a Lincoln-sponsored "Off the Red Carpet" program highlighting the cast of Tyler Perry's upcoming film "The Family That Preys." Sanaa Lathan, Taraji P. Henson and Rockmond Dunbar the film's producer Roger Bobb. A tribute to the cast of "Waiting to Exhale"including Loretta Devine, Angela Bassett and Lela Rochon was held in addition to a number of panels and discussions. Evan Ross, Lauren London, Tatiana Ali, Columbus Short, Anthony Mackie; Holly Robinson Peete, Mos Def, Idris Elba, Michael Ealy, John Singleton, Malik Yoba, Tina Andrews and Salli Richardson were also in attendance at the festival which ended Sunday.
