CBS Pulls Plug on Mya and Brian McKnight’s ‘Secret Talents’
After just one dismally rated episode, the CBS network cancelled its new celebrity-based reality show, “The Secret Talents of the Stars” yesterday. The reality show, which featured Grammy-nominated R&B singer Brian McKnight and songbird Mya, premiered on Tuesday drawing just 4.6 million viewers according to Nielsen Media Research. McKnight, who recently appeared in the Broadway hit “Chicago” rounded out the panel of judges which also included Debbie Reynolds and producer Gavin Polone. Mya, who will make her debut in ‘Chicago’ next month as Velma Kelly, showed off her tap dancing skills on the first and final episode. Earlier this season, CBS dumped its new musical drama “Viva Laughlin” after just two airings. The network said it would replace “Secret Talents’ for the next two weeks with “48 Hours Mysteries,” then swap in new episodes of the returning legal drama “Shark” for the remainder of the season.
