Teeth Like God’s Shoeshine

OPENING:

e---------------------------------------------------------------------

b----------------------5----------------------------------------------

g----------------------x----------------------------------------------

d------------4b-4b-----4---0------5-----------------------------------

a-----------------------------0---5---0---5^0---0---------------------

E---------------------------------3-----------------------------------

b=bend …do not bend it with your finger though, apply pressure to the bridge

or whammy-bar, so that the note is only bent slightly-much of the first part

of the song is played this way (listen to the record to pick it up) as are many

other modest mouse riffs; i.e., this indicative of Issac Brock’s “style.”

VERSE 1:

e----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

b-----------5------------------------------------------5---------------------------

g-----------x------------------------------------------x---------------------------

d-4b-4b-----4---0----5-------------------------4b-4b---4---0---5-----------------0-

a---------------0----5---0---5^0-0-------------------------0---5-------------------

E--------------------3-----------------------------------------3-4-5---------------

this is played throughout the verse, until…

END OF VERSE 1:

e-----------------------------------------------------------------

b-----5-5-5-5-----------------------------------------------------

g-----x-x-x-x--------------------11-11-11-11----------------------

d-----4-4-4-4---5-5-5-5----------x-x-x-x---------7-7-7-7----------

a---------------5-5-5-5----------9-9-9-9---------7-7-7-7----------

E---------------3-3-3-3--------------------------5-5-5-5----------

“OH! If you could compact your conscience…”

e-----------------------------------------------------------------

b-------------------5----------5----------------------------------

g-------------------x---x------x------7-7-7-7---------------------

d---------4m-4m-4---x----------4------x-x-x-x------7-7-7----------

a-------------------------------------5-5-5-5------5-5-5----------

E--------------------------------------------------7-7-7----------

m=mute…but pretty much all of this is muted except the notes on the “b” string.

This is the only part that I am not too sure about, but it sounds about right,

anyways…just listen to the record to get the rhythm and to figure out when

and when not to mute the strings…

SLOW PART:

e---------------------------------------------------------------

b---------------------------------------------------------------

g---------------------------------------------------------------

d----------7---------------0-------------5-------------------5/7

a------5--------------4--------------5-------------------5------

E-7--------------5--------------3------------------3------------

play this twice.

“And the television’s gone…”

e-------------------------------------------------------

b-------------------------------------------------------

g-------------------------------------------------------

d------------7------------------------------------------

a------5-------------------------------5---4---------3b-

E-7--------------------------------5--------------------

**very important** these notes are all harmonics!! If you don’t know what

harmonics means,

listen to the record, and if you still don’t get it, ask someone who knows

how to play guitar…also on “3b” play this note right on the metal part of the

fret that separates the 3rd and 4th fret, does that make sense? Also, on that

same note, bend it by pulling up on the bridge of your guitar, i.e. pressing

down your whammy bar.

“Here’s the man with teeth like…”

Just play “SLOW PART” again.

Then it goes into this…

FAST PART #1: (Take ém all for the long ride…)

e-----------------------------------------------------------------

b-----------------------------------------------------------------

g---4-4-4---------------------------------------------------------

d---x-x-x------7-7-7-------5-5-5----------------------------------

a---2-2-2 -----x-x-x-------x-x-x----------------------------------

E---x-x-x------5-5-5-------3-3-3----------------------------------

…and it changes right on “comes from deep down in side”

“Comes From deep down inside…” FAST PART #2:

e-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

b-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

g-11--9---7---6---7---6---11--9---7---6---7---6---11---9---7---6---7---6------------------

d--x--x---x---x---x---x---x---x---x---x---x---x---x----x---x---x---x---x------------------

a--9--7---5---4---5---4---9---7---5---4---5---4---9----7---5---4---5---4---0-4-5^4-0-4-5^4

E-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

repeat this twice, then go into…

FAST PART #3 “and it’s all all wrong…”

e----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

b----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

g-11---11---11---11---12^11---11---11---11---12^11---11---11---11---12^11---11---11----11

d-x-----x----x----x----x--x----x----x----x----x--x----x----x----x----x--x----x----x-----x

a-9-----9----9----9---10^ 9----9----9----9---10^ 9----9----9----9---10^ 9----9----9-----9

E----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

play this for awhile-listen to the record-then go back into FAST PART #2(but

only play it

once)…then it goes back into the “slow part”of the song again, and I’ve tabbed

out everything for

that already, so I trust that you can figure out the pattern yourself…then

it goes back in to the

fast part of the song again, which you can also figure out, then it ends on

this:

OUTRO PART 1:

e---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

b---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

g---11----11---11----9---9---9---7---7---12---11---11----11---9---9---9---7---7---7---7b---7b---7b--

d----x-----x----x----x---x---x---x---x----x----x----x-----x---x---x---x---x---x---x-----------------

a----9-----9----9----7---7---7---5---5---10----9----9-----9---7---7---7---5---5---5-----------------

E---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OUTRO PART 2:

e---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

b---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

g----9----7----5----9----7----5-----9----7----5^^^^^^^^^^^------------------------------------------

d---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

a---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

E---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

**again, it is very important to understand that all of these notes are HARMONICS**

^^^^^^^^^^^^=bend this note up and down with your bridge or whammy-bar.

Play this several times-I’m not sure how many.

FINAL OUTRO:

e---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

d---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

g------11---------9-------7/////12------------------------------------------------------------------

d-------x---------x-------x/////x-------------------------------------------------------------------

a-------9---------7-------5/////10------------------------------------------------------------------

E---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

let ring.
