Ministry Album and Tour News
On the heels of their latest Grammy-nomination for "The Great Satan," the legendary Ministry will release their new studio album Rio Grande Blood, on May 2, 2006. Jourgensen's fearless assail on the Bush administration and the global reverberations of war. Ministry remain icons in the music world responsible for some of the most critically-acclaimed albums, including a Grammy Award. With the ability to cross genres from alternative to metal to rock, Ministry was one of the first bands to dominate both the alternative and metal charts at radio, topping CMJ's Top 200 alternative chart and metal chart at the same time - the band continues its pioneering ways with uncompromising music.
Jourgensen's track, "The Great Satan" was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Metal Performance category this past February 2006. This is the third Grammy nomination for Jourgensen and Ministry, who were also nominated in 1993 and won the Grammy in 2000. Rio Grande Blood will feature Jourgensen's updated remix version of "The Great Satan," a political indictment of America's participation in the Iraqi war.
Jourgensen kicks off the 2006 MasterBaTour, doing double duty with both of his current bands, Revolting Cocks and Ministry. In addition, European headline festival dates will follow.
