Metallica to release new album in 2008
In a recent interview, Lars Ulrich, Metallica's drummer said that the heavy metal group plan to release a new album in the year to come. The group already recorded the backing tracks for what is goind to be their ninth studio album.
While at Belgium's Rock Werchter Festival, the drummer confirmed that Metallica are aiming to release the follow-up to 2003's 'St Anger' in February 2008.
"It doesn't sound like 'St. Anger' to me," he told Studio Brussel. "It's a little early to kind of put in a soundbite exactly. But it doesn't sound anything like 'St. Anger'.
"It's probably a little more dynamic, and a little more varied, and it has lots of different nutty Metallica stuff on it."
The band are currently in the midst of touring the European festival circuit. They're set to play Live Earth at London's Wembley Stadium on July 7.
