Mariah Carey

It looks like Mariah Carey has another chance to pick up her first "moonman" at this year's MTV Video Music Awards. The "I'll Be Loving You Long Time" singer scored a Best Female Video nomination in the first round of voting at MTV.com this week. Carey's "Touch My Body" has benefited from MTV's groundbreaking decision to allow fans to select nominees for this year's Video Music Awards. The singer who shares the Best Female Video category with Jordin Sparks ("No Air"), Rihanna ("Take A Bow"), Britney Spears ("Piece of Me") and Katy Perry ("I Kissed A Girl") picked up thousands of votes on the networks website. Not far behind the Best Male Video nominees picked up a scorching amount of votes earning Chris Brown, Usher, Lil Wayne, T.I. and Flo Rida a spot in the top five. Brown, who recently announced plans for a reality dance competition earned a nomination for the hit single "With You," while his veteran counterpart Usher landed a nomination for the hit club anthem "Love In This Club." Hip Hop dominated the remainder of the Best Male Video category led by T.I., Flo Rida and chart topping star Lil Wayne. The 25th Annual MTV Video Music Awards are set to take place in Hollywood on September 7th, performers and presenters are to be announced next month. Voting for the awards continues this week with a chance to nominate your top pick for Best Hip Hop Video and Best Pop Video.
