Diva Mariah Carey has lashed out at critics who claim she has gained too much weight to wear skimpy outfits, insisting she is actually very muscular.

The Don't Forget About Us singer admits people give her a hard time about her revealing outfits, but she likes the way she looks and is fit - not fat.

She says: "I'm really bad with the weight thing. I go up and down really quickly because I am a muscular person. People don't realise."

Carey says her weight has become an issue because she is "a little thicker" than she has been in the past.

But the singer remains defiant about her healthy size, adding: "I don't want to be a skinny twig."
