Mariah Carey Hits Back at Diddy’s Fragrance Challenge

Mariah Carey

Mariah Carey has hit back at comments made by Sean 'Diddy' Combs, suggesting his new fragrance Unforgivable is better than all female owned fragrances, by dismissing his scent as a one-night-stand smell. Combs challenged Carey and others to a televised 'smell test' during a recent TV appearance and Carey has become the first celebrity fragrance rival to respond. She subtly says, "I heard about this competition, and I wish Puff all the best with his new fragrance. "I think we're actually appealing to different types of women. M by Mariah Carey is about being unforgettable, not unforgivable. "It's not about a menage a trois or a one night stand, it's for the woman who wants the man to fall in love with her immediately, stay in love, and treat her like royalty." Diddy has since upped his challenge to Carey, ex-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez, Sarah Jessica Parker and Gwen Stefani, calling for a Pepsi-style smell test open to the public. He explains, "I invite them to come out, meet me on a Saturday or Sunday on 5th Avenue (New York) and we do it like Pepsi blind smell taste. We can do it in front of my Sean John store. "My fragrance is launching and we can see whose fragrance is better, mine or yours. And the loser has to pay for a shopping spree." In other Diddy news, a spokesperson for the Bad Boy Records honcho confirmed Today that his flagship New York City restaurant, Justin's, has closed. The neo-soul food restaurant is apparently looking to "relocate elsewhere in Manhattan." "Bad Boy is seeking a larger footprint for the restaurant in the New York City area, as the size and location of the restaurant no longer fit the Justin's brand," an official statement said. "The company sees the larger Justin's Restaurant in Atlanta, which takes up most of a city block, as the prototype for the new New York City location. Bad Boy representatives are evaluating a number of options for a larger space in some of New York City's prime traffic areas."
