Is Jay-Z Launching A New Label?
Jay-Z's rumored record label StarRoc may be a reality by years end. According to reports, the "Blueprint 3" star has linked up with hitmaking production house StarGate to form the label. Last year, a rumor began to circulate around Jay-Z's departure from Def Jam to form a new label. This new label had also been rumored to pull the star's top acts including Ne-Yo, Rihanna, and even Beyonce' into the fold. While the deal has not been confirmed, sources close to StarGate have reported that duo powerhouse StarGate producers, Tor Erik Hermansen and Mikkel S. Eriksen have relocated their production studio to Jay Z's Roc The Mic Studios. At press time it was unclear when or if Jay-Z would make the announcement about the label and its potential recording artists.
