Get Ready...Mimi Is About To Take On The World

Mariah Carey

Mariah Carey is looking forward to hitting the road this fall and according to the singer she hopes to rival the opening of her last tour with a November kick off. On a recent MTV interview the singer said "I'm thinking elaborate," of her upcoming tour. "I like elaborate. We only do substantial. That's what my jeweler says. I haven't gotten the looks in mind just yet, but we're going to figure it out soon enough." Mimi's last tour was a huge success, following what became a banner year for the singer who picked up numerous awards for the hit album "The Emancipation of Mimi." As for a confirmed kickoff date – that remains to be seen, but Mariah says "Please don't hold me accountable if it turns out to be December 5 or December 7 or January 18!" In related news, Carey is one step closer to winning her first MTV Video Music Award, the singer was selected by online voters as a contender for Best Female Video yesterday. Carey who has won Grammys, American Music Awards and several Billboard Awards has not picked up a moonman since her debut in 1990, "I have faith in my fans," she said. "I believe they will come through for me, because they always have. My house is not complete without an American Moonman, and I would say 'Touch My Body' deserves one. Brett Ratner directed it, I have a unicorn in there, I have ['Guitar Hero'] in there — who else has that?"
