R&B Singer Lloyd Signs Worldwide Publishing Deal With Warner Music Group: Warner/Chappell Music
Warner/Chappell Music (WCM), one of the world's largest music publishers, announced a worldwide publishing agreement with chart-topping R&B singer/songwriter Lloyd. Under this agreement, Warner/Chappell will publish Lloyd's future compositions as well as Lloyd's catalog of songs.
In making the announcement, Chris Hicks, Senior Vice President, Urban A&R and Head of Urban Music, Warner/Chappell Music, said, "Lloyd has demonstrated his strong songwriting skills through hit singles and we are proud that he has chosen to partner with Warner/Chappell in developing his career as a songwriter."
"I'm excited about this relationship with Warner/Chappell," said Lloyd. "Their track record of success and their experienced staff were a big draw for me."
Lloyd's new album "Street Love," released March 13th, debuted at #2 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop albums chart. Of the 15 songs on the album, Lloyd co-wrote eight of the songs including the first single "You," which features fellow Warner/Chappell writer, Lil' Wayne. In February, the song reached No. 1 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop songs chart. Lloyd's second single, "Get it Shawty," which features fellow Warner/Chappell writer Yung Joc on the remix, is currently climbing the charts at #8 on Billboard's R&B/Hip Hop songs chart and #22 on Billboard's Hot 100. Eleven of "Street Love's" 15 tracks reflect the contributions of Warner/Chappell songwriters and producers including Lil' Wayne, Jazzy Pha, Zak Wallace, Don Vito, Eric Hudson and Bryan Michael Cox.
Lloyd has collaborated on records with hip-hop artists ranging from Rick Ross and Young Jeezy to DJ Khaled. He is currently on tour with Bow Wow.
