LL Cool J Says HeÂ’s Not Done With Music, Links With Sears For Clothing Line
Even though his latest album is titled Exit 13, LL Cool J has no intention of calling it quits anytime soon. The iconic rapper/actor also spoke about his new clothing line recently. "I have no reason to stop making music," says LL Cool J. Despite the fact that ‘Exit 13' ends his twenty plus year deal with Def Jam, LL Cool J says "We have a great relationship and there's no telling what will happen moving forward." Despite LL's new found attitude, things have not been rosy at Def Jam in recent years as the hip hop icon made headlines for criticizing the label that launched his career in 1985. LL Cool J had claimed that Def Jam did not do enough to promote its artists in addition to criticizing Jay-Z who was at the helm of the label at that time. Ironically now that Jay-Z is gone, the "Baby" star says "There's no negative energy there now; everybody feels positive, we all feel connected." In addition to his upcoming album ‘Exit 13,' the Hip Hop icon is busy working on his new children's clothing line which is being distributed through Sears. Priding himself on making the line affordable for families unlike his counterparts who have focused more on high end fashion lines, LL Cool J's line of boys and girls clothing has been created with families in mind. "It feels really good in this economic climate for me as not only an artist, but as a businessman to be able to present something to America that I know will make things a little easier for people," says LL Cool J whose wife and four children will appear in upcoming print campaigns for the line. LL Cool J's line will be sold in over 450 stores across North America. ‘Exit 13' hits stores and online retailers September 9th.
