Korn Frontman Speaks on State of the Band

Korn

With the recent indefinite departure of Korn drummer David Silveria, the exit of Brian 'Head' Welch and Jonathan Davis' solo tour, The Gauntlet asked Jonathan Davis today about the internal state of Korn "Anytime you do anything solo or anything like that it freaks people out" stated Jonathan Davis. "We are tighter than ever. The heart of this band with me, Fieldy and Munky. We did most of the writing and everything that went on with this band. Losing David and 'Head' [Brian Welch] hurt us more emotionally and we love those guys and I wish them the best. I love 'Head' to death and am really happy David is taking time off and spending time with his kids and I hope this rekindles his love for playing the drums. Us, as the band Korn, have never been stronger, as brothers and creatively. We are really excited to get in and do another record. Korn as a band is just taking two months off at the end of the year because we really need it. We have been going 14 years without a break. Normally we just take a couple weeks off at the end of a tour and go right into the studio and start working again. This is something we really needed to take. Rather than taking two months off and not doing anything, I don't want to go crazy so I am going to do this solo tour and play accoustic and play some covers. I just like playing and I want to do something special for the fans."
