R&B Singer Kelis Releases ‘Hits’ Album in The UK
R&B singer Kelis, who came onto the scene in 1999 with her debut album ‘Kaleidoscope,’ released a greatest hits album on March 3, 2008 in the United Kingdom containing fourteen of her previous hits entitled The Hits (previously due to be titled Good Stuff - The Best of Kelis). The disc also carries some titles that Kelis was featured on, which is a bit of a change since she’s not the main singer on those songs and more in the background. For example, we get Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s “Got Your Money,” N.E.R.D.’s “Truth or Dare,” and Richard X’s “Finest Dreams.” The album does not contain any previously unreleased songs. The Hits also includes popular Kelis hits like "Milkshake" and collaborations with artists such as André 3000, her husband Nas, Cee-Lo and Too Short. Television adverts and promotional posters were used in the United Kingdom to promote The Hits. Blindfold Me featuring Nas was, however, not included on The Hits, despite it's small success in various American, European and Oceanian charts. The Hits is thought to be a last-minute attempt of Kelis' former record labels to make money from her previous work before she is signed to a new label and releases a fifth studio album, which Kelis is currently said to be working on. In late October 2007, Jive Records dropped Kelis due to Kelis Was Here's poor sales. Kelis: The Hits Tracklist1. Caught Out There [Explicit]2. Milkshake (Album Version)3. Got Your Money Feat.
