The Alternative: Controversial Author J.L. King Chronicles 'DL Music Mogul' In New Book
Fact or Fiction ? The controversial author that opened pandora's box when he sat on Oprah's couch a few years ago to talk about men on the "down low" is set to release a new novel next week and this time he's tackling "down low" men in the music industry. ‘Love on Two-Way Street,' King's third novel and follow up to New York Times Best Sellers "On The Down Low" and "Coming Up From the Down Low" chronicles the life of fictional character -- James "Juice" Kennedy and his interactions with a successful woman and six powerful industry men. King who caused quite a bit of controversy with his first novel has appeared on numerous talk shows, radio shows and other media outlets, seems to imply that "Love On A Two Way Street" is a true story prompting many to ask.... just who is this "down low" media mogul ? In a recent release for the book King describes his character as having a ruthless drive for sex, money and power: "Juice likes to have his cake and eat it too, and a hard-bodied man is one other dessert he can't resist." Juice has a plan to bring together six more of the most wealthy, powerful, and influential men in politics, entertainment, and media who share his seductive secret. If they band together, all of their wildest dreams -- and fantasies -- will come true. If they betray the brotherhood, the consequences are deadly. Although King's book does not name names it does seem rather convenient that he would tap into the world of recently released tell-all industry books including Terrance Dean's "Hiding In Hip Hop," Carmen Bryan's "It's No Secret" and Karine Steffans' "Confessions of A Video Vixen," all of which have been best sellers. King does not confirm or deny the truthfulness of the story he simply states "Is it fact or fiction? You'll have to read it to find out." The author who also labels himself as an expert on the behavior of men on the down low, will celebrate the release of his book August 9th at a book signing and candid discussion for women only in Silver Springs, Maryland. J. L. King's "Love On A Two-Street" hits stores July 29th.
