Is Jennifer Lopez the Next Artist to be Dropped?
R&B singer Jennifer Lopez may get drop from her record label after selling a mere 53,000 copies the first week of her seventh studio album “Brave,” reports MSNBC.A source close to Epic Records and Sony BMG, allegedly says that J.Lo "costs too much money and doesn't sell enough." Earlier in the month, J.Lo performed on Good Morning America, where Epic paid for Lopez' makeup, reported to be about $8,000 a day. "The woman requires everything short of flying monkeys to get on a stage," a source "familiar with the issue" was quoted as saying. The source added that Lopez album cover cost $60,000 " . . . in hair and makeup, lighting, photographers, [and] re-touching," and the video budget fell around $300,000. J.Lo's latest album, Brave, was released Oct. 9. An Epic spokesperson tactfully reassured: "We love Jennifer at Epic," MSNBC reported.
