Great song. I'm pretty sure this song is played on two guitars, one playing
rhythm and the other being picked. But I'm only one guitar, so I go for a kind
of hybrid that doesn't always play something in the music, but tries to
recreate the whole sound that Jars is creating with drums, guitars, banjos,
mandolins... you get the idea.
VERSE
Em7* – A (variants finger-styled)**
Em7 – D – A (variants finger-styled)
Em7 – A (variants finger-styled)
Em7 – D
* Alternate between an Em7 and an Em as you please, but I think the Em7 fits a
little better.
** Strum the A-chord, then hammer on an Asus4. Strum the A-chord again without
the sus4, hammer on another sus4, pull it off, strum a sus2, then return to
the normal A-chord.
CHORUS
Bm – G*** (x2)
Bm – Em7
G – D
*** I suspect Jars plays this G not as a regular open chord but as an E-shape
barred at fret 3. Think of the shape and position of a Bm, and you can see the
relationship. The different voicing is also pretty good. :)
BRIDGE
Bm – A – D – G
INSTRUMENTAL
Bm – G (x2)
Em7 – D – G
